Playing career

Club

Nash plays hurling with his local club Kanturk, who play in the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship. Kanturk is the only intermediate hurling team in the division of Duhallow. He also used to play with the Cork Institute of Technology team but now plays with University College Cork in the Cork Senior Hurling Championship. Nash is the goalkeeper on both teams.

Inter-county

Nash first came to prominence as a hurling goalkeeper on the inter-county scene in 2004. That year Cork won a Munster title at intermediate level, before going on to win the All-Ireland title. The following year Nash joined the Cork under-21 hurling team, later going on to win a provincial medal following a victory over Tipperary. In 2006 Nash was between the posts again when Cork captured another set of Munster and All-Ireland honours at intermediate level. In 2009 he won his third set of Munster and All Ireland Intermediate medals.

As a result of the suspension of Donal Óg Cusack, Nash made his senior debut in the Munster SHC semi-final against Waterford on June 17, 2007. He had a tough game, leaving in five goals, however, the absence of Diarmuid O'Sullivan and Seán Óg Ó hAilpín depleted the Cork back lines even further.
